Recycling
The Argonia Recycling Center is located
just east of the city building on the north side of the railroad tracks. The
30' x 40' building, erected in 2004, was made possible through a grant from Sunflower RC&D and
through proceeds from the city of Argonia's present recycling program. The
Recycling Center allows for drive-through drop off from west to east with
boxes on each side to receive recycling items every fourth Saturday from
8:00-11:00am and every second Wednesday from 6:00-8:00pm. The key to the
center is also available for check out at the City Building for individuals
who cannot make the regular times.
Recyclables accepted at the Argonia Recycling Center
include cardboard, magazine, newspaper, plastics, glass, office pack,
aluminum and steel cans.
The school's KAY Club, a youth
community-service organization, helps provide labor along with adult
volunteers.
Please note: Argonia
Recycling takes only PETE 1, PETE 2 and HDPE 2 plastics. Paste board boxes
(cereal boxes, cracker boxes, etc.) are not accepted as cardboard. |
